Schools Compete in Logo Contest – May 2023

The Nuru Initiative held a Logo Contest on May 19, 2023 where we invited participation from students across three school beneficiaries: Kinanie High School, Athi River Secondary School, and Ng’ombeni High School.

The contest encouraged students to channel their artistic prowess towards a noble cause.

The winners were announced at Athi River Secondary School, with Allan Chegem taking the first place, followed by Onesmus Mumo as 1st Runner Up and Joseph Kamau as 2nd Runner Up. Each winner received various cash prizes.

The Logo Contest served as a platform to inspire and empower young minds to think innovatively and contribute positively to their communities. The winning design, a clear representation of Nuru’s mission, symbolizes the strength, resilience, and boundless potential in every young girl.

With soaring wings embodying freedom and opportunity, and open palms signifying support and guidance, the winning logo sums up the essence of Nuru’s commitment to empowering the girl child. At the centre of the image is a girl wearing a graduation hat, reminding us how education can change lives for the better.

Incorporated into the design is the essence of Nuru, which means “light” in Swahili. This symbolism reflects the foundation’s mission to illuminate the path of empowerment for young girls, shedding light on their potential and guiding them towards a brighter future.

Thanks to everyone who submitted their artwork – you all made a fantastic effort!
